Its main mission is to coordinate and strengthen the Rotary International Youth Exchange Program, offering thousands of students the opportunity to experience new cultures and develop a deeper understanding of the world, thereby promoting peace and international understanding.\nLATIR annually organizes the LATIR Conference, the largest youth exchange event in Latin America, held in April. It gathers district exchange program chairpersons, their teams, district governors, ROTEX youth, and other guests. This event offers three days filled with learning, planning, and celebrating cultural diversity, highlighting the magical «Night of LATIR Flavors,» a cultural event celebrating Latin American diversity through cuisine, art, and dance.\nThis year, from April 25 to 27, 2025, the city of Cali, Colombia, will be the epicenter of this great event. Delegates from 18 Rotary districts will come together to share knowledge, plan for the future, and celebrate the value of youth exchange. The exchange program offers several options, including long-term exchanges (LTEP), short-term exchanges (STEP), and virtual programs. Additionally, the New Generations Service Exchange (NGSE) is offered, aimed at young professionals aged 18 to 30, focusing on unpaid internships in specific sectors.\nLATIR not only promotes the personal and academic growth of the participating youth, but it also enriches host communities through cultural exchange, creating lasting bonds and fostering international friendship.
