4th LATIR International Conference and 3rd ROTEX Conference in Cali, Colombia April 2025

LATIR, the Latin American Rotary Exchange Association, is an organization that brings together 18 Rotary districts in South America, covering all Spanish-speaking countries in the region: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela. Its main mission is to coordinate and strengthen the Rotary International Youth Exchange Program, offering thousands of students the opportunity to experience new cultures and develop a deeper understanding of the world, thereby promoting peace and international understanding.

LATIR annually organizes the LATIR Conference, the largest youth exchange event in Latin America, held in April. It gathers district exchange program chairpersons, their teams, district governors, ROTEX youth, and other guests. This event offers three days filled with learning, planning, and celebrating cultural diversity, highlighting the magical “Night of LATIR Flavors,” a cultural event celebrating Latin American diversity through cuisine, art, and dance.

This year, from April 25 to 27, 2025, the city of Cali, Colombia, will be the epicenter of this great event. Delegates from 18 Rotary districts will come together to share knowledge, plan for the future, and celebrate the value of youth exchange. The exchange program offers several options, including long-term exchanges (LTEP), short-term exchanges (STEP), and virtual programs. Additionally, the New Generations Service Exchange (NGSE) is offered, aimed at young professionals aged 18 to 30, focusing on unpaid internships in specific sectors.

LATIR not only promotes the personal and academic growth of the participating youth, but it also enriches host communities through cultural exchange, creating lasting bonds and fostering international friendship. LATIR, la Asociación Latinoamericana de Intercambio de Rotary, es una organización que reúne a 18 distritos rotarios en América del Sur, abarcando todos los países de habla hispana en la región: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Perú, Uruguay y Venezuela. Su principal misión es coordinar y fortalecer el Programa de Intercambio de Jóvenes de Rotary International, ofreciendo a miles de estudiantes la oportunidad de conocer nuevas culturas y desarrollar una comprensión más profunda del mundo, promoviendo así la paz y el entendimiento internacional.

LATIR organiza anualmente la Conferencia LATIR, el mayor evento de intercambio juvenil en América Latina, que se celebra en abril y que reúne a los presidentes de los comités distritales del programa de intercambio, sus equipos, gobernadores distritales, jóvenes ROTEX y otros invitados. Este encuentro ofrece tres días llenos de aprendizajes, planificación y celebración de la diversidad cultural, destacando la mágica “Noche de los Sabores del Latir”, un evento cultural que celebra la diversidad latinoamericana a través de la gastronomía, el arte y la danza.

Este año, del 25 al 27 de abril de 2025, la ciudad de Cali, Colombia, será el epicentro de este gran evento. Delegados de 18 distritos rotarios se reunirán para compartir conocimientos, planificar el futuro y celebrar el valor del intercambio juvenil. El programa de intercambio ofrece varias modalidades, incluyendo intercambios de largo plazo (LTEP), de corto plazo (STEP), y programas virtuales. También se ofrece el Intercambio de Servicio de Nuevas Generaciones (NGSE), dirigido a jóvenes profesionales de 18 a 30 años.

LATIR no solo fomenta el crecimiento personal y académico de los jóvenes participantes, sino que también enriquece a las comunidades anfitrionas a través del intercambio cultural, creando lazos duraderos y fomentando la amistad internacional​​.
